![]() ![]() There were four ladies in our party who had a great time exploring and hunting for bargains. In less time than it would take to read Edith Wharton's Ethan Frome, you could be having your own charmed experience in the Berkshires. ![]() They offer all kinds of clothing (dresses, shirts, skits, etc) and clothing accessories (hats, scarf, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc). It is not a very large store but a quaint, two-story home that was retrofitted into a clothing store on the inside while still maintaining that homey look and feel on the outside - with a wide, front porch and floral garden in the front lawn.Īs you enter the store you walk up a narrow staircase to the top floor you find this place is packed with clothes in all directions- even on the front porch, the first floor, along the walls of the staircase as well as the top floor. BoHo Exchange is a clothing consignment store which we also found while touring Great Barrington two years go. We visited it 2 years ago and we had a great visit touring the two floors of treasures found there. When we planned our family vacation trip to the Berskhires, based upon past experiences there were two places my family insisted we visit in Great Barrington – The Asia Barong and the BoHo Exchange.Īsia Barong is a Asian art gallery and artifact Mega store a little north of Downtown Great Barrington. Then we visited a few shops along Main street - Tom’s Toy shop (for a toy for my grandchild), the Fuel Bistro Coffee shop for a coffee to go (They also offer gluten free dishes) and the BoHo Exchange clothing store – before returning to our hotel. So, we stopped at Bizen for some delicious teriyaki, tempura, bento boxes and sushi for lunch. There is all day, public parking available on Railroad Street close to the Bizen. ![]() Apparently, he frequents the Bizen Gourmet Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar on Railroad Ave for lunch which is allergy friendly. During our visit we asked him if he knew any gluten free restaurants in downtown Great Barrington. But It was the jewelry that caught the eye of the ladies in our group and they bought a few items. ![]() Butterflies mounted in picture frames hanging on the walls. A wide selection of colorful, decorative vases. A black coffee table with an alligator embedded into it top – that looked like it was swimming across the top of the table. There was a ceramic beer stein that sat on the floor and stood 4-5 feet tall. This store is filled with a interesting mixture of antique furnishings, vases, artwork and jewelry of all kinds. The Emporium can be entered from its front door on Main street or through its back door from the parking lot. You want to park in the lot that has “The Emporium” sign mounted on its fence. (Which is great since parking is usually limited in Downtown Barrington.) There are several other businesses close to the Emporium who also have private parking lots back there. The Emporium is located on Main Street leading into downtown Great Barrington and conveniently offers its own small, private parking lot for visitors directly behind the shop. This was our second visit to the Asia Barong and we are always impressed by the quality and quantity of Asia artifacts on display. Our first stop was the Asia Barong which is magnificent Asia art and artifacts Mega store. It was one of two places we had planned to visit on our way to downtown Great Barrington. While vacationing in Berkshires my family visited the Emporium Antiques Center near downtown Great Barrington. ![]()
